"From Temple Flowers to Livelihood: Empowering Women in Ramatheertham"

The SHHOP successfully conducted a skill development training program in Ramatheertham, Andhra Pradesh, in three batches, empowering local women with livelihood opportunities. The training focused on producing incense sticks (agarbattis), dhoop sticks, and mosquito coils using semi-automatic machines—completely free of charcoal, utilizing only dried flowers from the renowned Ramatheertham temple. Additionally, participants were trained in packaging turmeric (pasupu), saffron (kumkuma), and sandalwood powder (chandanam) into small containers for sale at temple premises. This initiative, supported by the local governing body, DRDA, and NABARD aimed to create sustainable businesses and self-reliant women entrepreneurs.

Empowering Women Entrepreneurs Through Backyard Poultry in Narayanpet

The SHHOP, in collaboration with local governing bodies, successfully conducted a specialized training program in Narayanpet, Telangana, aimed at empowering women entrepreneurs from the SC community. This initiative focused on backyard poultry farming, equipping women with the skills and knowledge needed to establish and manage their own poultry businesses.

Through hands-on training, participants learned about poultry care, feeding, disease management, and sustainable farming practices, ensuring a profitable and self-sustaining enterprise. The program emphasized low-cost, high-yield methods, enabling women to generate a stable income while contributing to local food security.

This initiative not only fosters financial independence but also strengthens rural economies by creating new livelihood opportunities. By turning backyard poultry into a thriving business, these women are stepping into entrepreneurship, building self-reliance, and securing a better future for their families and communities.

Empowering Women Through Textile Arts: Block Printing, Tie & Dye, and Screen Printing Training in Narayanpet

The SHHOP, in collaboration with local governing bodies, organized a comprehensive textile training program in Narayanpet, Telangana, to empower women entrepreneurs from the SC community. This initiative focused on Block Printing, Tie & Dye, and Screen Printing, equipping participants with traditional and modern textile design techniques to create high-quality, marketable products.

The training covered fabric selection, natural dye preparation, intricate block printing methods, tie & dye techniques, and screen printing applications. Women were also guided in product development and business strategies, helping them transform their skills into sustainable livelihoods.

By mastering these crafts, the trainees are not only preserving India's rich textile heritage but also stepping into entrepreneurship. This program is creating a new wave of skilled artisans who can generate income, promote eco-friendly textile production, and contribute to local economies.
